Sig Sauer p250 vs Glock 36sf
 

Gentlemen, I recently had the opportunity to shoot a SIg Sauer p250 chambered in .45. I have to admit I was excepting some major recoil. Or so I had been informed by others. Upon fifring the weapon, I was surprised at the recoil, compared to that of the .357 sig that I carry as a duty weapon. I have not had the chance to fire the GLock 30sf or any glock .45 yet. I have a Glock 33 chambered in .357 and it more than a handful. I was wondering what you guys opinons are concerning the two weapons. I will defintely be purchasing one. Hit me with your thoughts.

In your title you mention G36SF, in the text G30SF. 2 completely different guns, just so you know. The 36 is the single-stack frame by some millimeters that gives up much to the standard frames, especially a few rounds. (Among many Glock aficionados the 36 is considered a pandering abberation.)

In the Glock series of 45 ACP's, the SF (short frame) seems to have alot of popularity for those that found the standard handle of the bigger Glocks (e.g., the 21, 20, and 30) somewhat less comfortable. My long-fingered paws never had a problem but everyone has their favorite grip. They all run fine, I've shot 'em all from the 17 on up, like 'em, own several (although I'm not a .40 or .357 Sig fan). IMO, the slight girth reduction to the 30SF really made it a nice carry gun if one is partial to .45ACP; alot of folks also picked up the full-size in that caliber when the 21SF came out.

Have seen some stock G30's and G21's do good work in their match classes (my G21 will shoot hardball along with any non-premium 1911 but maybe I just got lucky). I like the lower bore-axis to hand alignment of the Glock and find Sigs just plain clunky; again, a personal observation.

Might not matter to you, but you can run a Glock with a busted trigger spring *IF* you rack it while holding the trigger back and don't ever let the trigger run full forward & just keep shooting from the reset.

Because of the recoil pulse involved I'm betting you'd find any decent .45 ACP feels better than the .357 Sig. Variety of bullet types & performance in .45 ACP factory loads has never been better (if you can get it).

Badger, You are correct. I am considering the short frame which would be the 30 sf. I appreciate your opinion, sir. The .357 sig has a bit of a bite. I would say that I can't understand why most law enforcement agencies don't use the .45 seems to be a more shooter friendly round. But, then again I've heard the reason behind that.
