A Road Map to Peace in Afghanistan

Well seems like the last 11 years was for nothing. Sad fact that nothing seems to be going right.

A leaked document outlines a timetable for a political settlement and envisages a lead role for Pakistan, at a time Islamabad is also signalling it is keen for a deal

"Leaked document"

This isn't a good but google the topic.

Overall I'm done with trying to figure out WTH is going on over here. Nice thing is, great training with no Risk Assessments to be submited!!! :lifter

They want this to happen, they always have.. Well at least their Military and ISI elements.

The sad fact is that result of the Durand Line which Pakistan considers today as its border and Afghanistan refuses to recognise has caused most of these problems. They (Whom ever you want to name here) emphasis indifferences on Islam, which has been used as a means of countering ethnic Pashtun nationalism, lest the Pashtun lay claim to a Pashtunistan covering both sides of the Durand Line. You have Pakistan "making" Pashtunkhwa (the land of the Pashtoons), strenghten the Pashtuns on both side of the Durand Line. It's fine Pakistan will not be so "clean" much longer. Their time will come, I wish that the U.S. would just watch the imploded. But we can't, they (Pakies) have nukes.

Taliban militants are bent on taking over both Afghanistan and, more recently as far as the Pakistani Taliban are concerned, Pakistan as well. In any case, the trust is not there between Pakistan and Afghanistan to even begin to consider such an arrangement. Love to see what comes out of this arrangement.

If Sir Mortimer Durand had just looked at the trible lines that they knew about so well. Things could be very different. Larger Afghanistan, and more of a muslim sharia law country. Which it will become again.
