Question about the original USAF Ravens (not the UAV)

Gentlemen,

My Uncle was a Raven during & after the Vietnam War. He recently passed away and I've always been curious as to what Ravens did. I asked him a few times and he would only speak vaguely of it. After using the great search button in the sky (google) and the PS.com search button I found little information on the USAF Ravens.
To make a short story long... I see many seasoned Quite Professionals on this Forum and I am asking if you had any experiences with the original Ravens who flew over Vietnam and Laos?

I have no desire to violate OPSEC.
I realize my question does not directly pertain to SF.
Thank you for your service and sacrifices and time.

I thought this was quite good: The Ravens by Christopher Robbins (Jan 1995) when I read it.

There is a 3rd Edition out now: The Ravens: The True Story of a Secret War by Christopher Robbins (Jun 1, 2012)

Good read, thanks. For a stick & rudder pilot I imagine that was livin' large.

Also something to note- The Ravens had to resign from USAF to take this assignment... More of that "Plausible Deniability" I suppose...

Same as Air America. Also a lot of our terps in Thailand were angling for controller duty for the extra pay, double I believe. Been a while though. :D

Love articles about pilots. ( They were a different breed ) Way under appreciated by those who never needed them.
