Compare and contrast........

Chicago: Really well trained hand to hand expert attacked by gun-toting thug, narrowly escapes with life after hand to hand struggle.....

vs:

Colorado Springs: Normal run-of-the-mill guy out for walk with wife attacked by gun-toting thugs (note multiple) defends wife and self with concealed pistol resulting in thug being shot......

Yeah, I am not moving back to the PRI (People's Republic of Illinois) anytime soon if ever!

I read a different article about this same incident, don't recall where, but the victim was interviewed and made an excellent point:

"Training matters, it'll give you a chance to survive"

I would agree with that. The more tools in the tool box, the better chance you have at doing the job successfully, whatever that job may be. In this case, defending himself and saving his life.

Score one for the good guys.
