Guantanamo - Costly Containment

Comparison President Barack Obama's administration says that it costs more than $800,000 a year to keep a captie at Guantanamo. Deducting intelligence and court costs could reduce that figure to $380,000. State of Florida System: 100,866 prisoners @ $19,469 ea Federal Bureau of Prisons: 218,026 prisoners @ $28, 284 ea Colorado Supermax: 3,210 prisoners @ $38,091 ea Guantanamo: 171 prisoners @ $ 800,000 ea Daily Food Ration Cost to feed one person each day. Depends of how they figured the cost. Gitmo stays open so none of the basic operations should be figured in to the cost estimate. |
