spetsnaz in afghanistan

in this forum(military photos) a member had published the interview of the account of a former spetsnaz(probably GRU or alfa) soldier regarding the role of russian SF in afghanistan.

what is interesting is a member by the name of "16 obr spn" who claims to have been in one of the spetsnaz units active in the soviet-afghan war and also that he was amongst the people from russia who trained the northern alliance in the mid-90's, share's about his time and spetsnaz actions in A'stan.

it's a long thread but worth reading once

though given the secrecy of the spetsnaz specially the GRU spetsnaz i am not sure whether 16 obr spn is for real
