Dozens hurt, woman killed in Jerusalem bombing
First bombing in last four years.
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...046677,00.html I've been at this bus stop at least a thousand times. It is definitely an interesting feeling to hear about it and me being here. |
I'm sure there will be a retaliation much harder than what they had received.......:(
Isreal doesn't put up with this, and we'll see what it will be...........;) Big Teddy :munchin |
3rd Intifada??
I really hope the bombing was not connected to this:
http://www.facebook.com/Palestinian.Intifada Shame on FB for allowing the Page to reach such proportions! (You can translate the wall comments using Google Chrome) |
The hubbub over that Facebook page resulted in its removal... and subsequent replacement with numerous duplicate pages. Unfortunately, despite the original page's disappearance, the promised widespread Muslim boycott of Facebook never materialized. With that said, if they failed to follow up on one action endorsed by the group, can they be expected to follow up on any other action? Or did the ones who stayed behind merely become takfiri apostates?
Debating whether Facebook should be the means by which such activity is coordinated is futile, as there are already numerous "I hate <whatever>" pages floating around on Facebook, as well as Arabic-language jihadi websites and "Inspire" magazine. The real question is how to get rid of the hatred at its source, or at least isolate it permanently. There are numerous threads and published opinions on this website and elsewhere addressing this matter. --------- In related news, the kid on the school bus that Hamas hit with a rocket is not doing so well... http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/143509 ... and Hamas is trying to start an international incident: http://www.stratfor.com/weekly/20110...rael-and-hamas |

The myriad of reports and complaints to Facebook concerning the group (eventually leading to its closure) was, in a way, a step in the direction of getting rid of said hatred. Enough people stood up and simply said "NO!". |

Calendar explanation here: http://www.aish.com/j/fs/80402192.html As a concerned college student, I've been tracking the Boycott/Divestment/Sanctions movements and their "mock apartheid walls" and "checkpoints", plus or minus the odd bit of campus violence (Jumana Albahri, Jessica Felber, John Moghtader, etc.) and general obnoxiousness on Facebook and from other sources. They all like to use that date. Yes, the threat is clear and the language is unmistakable. However, the credibility of the threat appears lacking in terms of willingness to leave the computer and go run around and throw stones outdoors... at least, from the view on top of my ivory tower. I'm certain ShaBak is working overtime, though. Finally, with the security barrier in place, Palestinians no longer have unimpeded access to important highways and major cities the way they used to. If they intend to meet their deadline, they better start thinking.... a process that is generally forbidden under autocratic rule. Quote:

That was the wordy way of saying "I'll believe it when I see it," though I have no illusions that these people are secretly peace-loving hippies. I see too many obstacles, including the wall and Shabak, keeping them from making their "Third Intifada" comparable to 2000-2005.
You make a good point about the symbolic value of their removal, despite the new pages that cropped up; I had not considered that. |
