Mako UTA - Pistol to Picatinny Rail

Has anyone else seen this? I am the farthest thing from knowledgeable on the subject, but this just seems to be a little ill conceived.

I don't see the sense in it

looks like it would have limited functionality anyway.

but I'm not a QP by any means maybe they have some thoughts?
