International Studies degree/ Arabic fluency thinking about 18X
This is my first post and I was hoping I could receive some advice from guys who are SF. I will be receiving my degree in International Studies where I had the Middle East and Africa as my regional focus. I also happen to have Arabic as my second language. I have always had a strong interest in serving our great nation and have always wanted to be either a Ranger or SF. Would you guys recommend based on my educational background go the 18X route or 35P/35M with option 40 to better familiarize myself with military living and prepare myself for SFAS? I would greatly appreciate your opinions and advice thank you.

It comes down to a matter of choices really. What do you want to do, and what are you going to do to make it happen? If you want to figure out if the Army is for you, then maybe doing the 35 thing and going to the Rangers isn't really a bad option.
If you understand that this could have the potential to be a lifelong commitment then I would check out our program. With us you will have more skills to bring to the table that, given your second language, will be readily at hand to utilize. Your maturity level and responsibility will be expected to be greater, but you will have greater flexibility and personal freedom, and given those have your voice heard more readily. So what do you want, and how hard to you want to work? |
Thank you LongWire it will definitely be something I take into consideration.
