Wondering why this group has gotten smaller?;

"The review group once included intelligence officials, generals and ambassadors, but it has recently narrowed to a far smaller number of senior civilian advisers, including Biden, Gates, Jones, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel."

Maybe there was some disagreement??

Or maybe he's now comfortable with the Chiefs speaking for their tribes now that the initial input from everyone has been collected. :confused:

Richard's jaded $.02 :munchin

Nah,:) Looks like the process has just been moving past the information gathering, through COA analysis, to the point of decision recommendation. The agencies are all still represented. White House, Pentagon Military, DEF, and State. (CofS is sort of the moderator, sorta). Only 15 hours of discussion? At that level that's practically like forever. Multiply that by all the staff time that went into analysis and developing positions and comparing notes and replying back and forth between the hives. I'm feeling pretty good about it. (as if that matters beyond the fact that my dwell time is just about up.) I'm sure there are some here with White House experience; or that place with the 60 degree angles, who can increase the candlepower.

Edit to add: Richard beat me by a couple of minutes. Damn kids!! Whining about being hungry, sheesh. "Spawn! get a grip, I'm replying to PS.Com!":p

Ah...were it that simple. ;)

Here is a script - you can substitute whichever politician's name you choose and it still works.

[Kang and Kodos have taken the form of Bob Dole and Bill Clinton]

Kodos: I am Clin-Ton. As overlord, all will kneel trembling before me and obey my brutal commands. End communication.
Marge: That's Slick Willy for you, always with the smooth talk.

Kent Brockman: Senator Dole, why should people vote for you?
Kang: It does not matter which way you vote. Either way your planet is doomed...doomed...doomed.
Kent Brockman: Well, a refreshing bit of candor from Senator Bob Dole.

...the difference between governments and individuals. Governments don't care, individuals do.

I read it as playing for time.

The old slow roll.
