Benelli Gunsmith

Any suggestions on a good gunsmith for a rebuild for a Benelli M1-Super 90? Mine needs a depot level rework after 16 years of duck hunting in a brackish water marsh environment.

Just found this old post, Don't know if you still need a benelli smith or not, but I have it on very good authority that this guy is really good. He is in California I believe, and he was recommended to me for tweaking a competittion gun by a top level 3 gun competitor.

Thanks

It is currently at Benelli USA for a rework. Last time I had checked they did not do repair work for individual customres but that has changed.

I am awaiting a detailed estimate now.

Thanks,

Caz

Sorry it took so long for any help on this. Oh, BTW in my experience, Benelli runs on "Benelli time" that is to say that ,"We'll have that right Back to you" and,"we can get that ordered for you" mean," expect to wait 3 months" and," this has to come from Italy where it is chiseled by hand from a solid piece of steel by a blind artisan so don't get in a hurry" respectively.

Good luck

Blake

Now or Then

Is this based on recent experience since Benelli USA took over or during the H&K period?

They have appeared put together over the phone and gave me an estimate of 6-8 weeks given current backlog. Last fall, it was 3 weeks but hunting season was upon me.

We'll see how it shakes out, they've got it now.

This was in the last 6-12 months as a retailer, trying to get product/parts from them. You're probably right that things will be different from the consumer side, but we had hell getting anything, even special ordered shotguns that they told us were onhand took months to get to us.

They just confirmed receipt and a 6 week turn around. I'll see if it actually works that way.
