RIP, General.
Thanks for your service. http://www.cebudanderson.com/firstsu...ightbombin.htm BG Hayes flew out of New Guinea in the Pacific in P-39s and P-40s before transitioning to P-51s en route to Europe. He was shot down once by a Zero over Java, flew 143 combat missions, and had 10.5 confirmed kills (2 Japs, 8.5 Nazis) and a probable. That makes him a double ace. He retired in 1970. Well done, Sir.
