Knife Community Loses Great Maker
The knifemaker Bob Lum lost his battle with cancer yesterday.
Bob was the creator of the modern custom tanto blade. No one else came up with this, it was all Bob's concept. Bob's craftsmanship and design was extraordinary. My words fail to convey what he did, you'd have to see his work to understand. Bob served in the United States Army in Vietnam, was also a very accomplished photographer but most important, a great human. Bob, I'm going to miss you as a member of the Steens Mountain crew, your friendship and yes, your cooking. Blue Skies Bob. |
