I love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I am with you

That's what I'm talkin about....

Now we need to get some of the Lovely P.S. Ladies here to vote on the best one.

Awwww...just tell him this site needs a little class. SF isn't all about guns, knives, eating Rattlesnakes and blowing stuff up.

You guys have a softer side to ya too.

If NDD does not object? You guys might try this one?

INTO MY OWN

One of my wishes is that those dark trees,
So old and firm they scarcely show the breeze,
Were not, as 'twere, the merest mask of gloom,
But stretched away unto the edge of doom.
I should not be withheld but that some day
Into their vastness I should steal away,
Fearless of ever finding open land,
Or highway where the slow wheel pours the sand.

I do not see why I should e'er turn back,
Or those should not set forth upon my track
To overtake me, who should miss me here
And long to know if still I held them dear.

They would not find me changed from him they knew--
Only more sure of all I thought was true.

William Shakespeare - Sonnet #18

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And Summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And oft' is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd:
But thy eternal Summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Okay, seeings how I was one of the "winners" of the 400th member guessing contest...

Your Name

I wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
and forever it will stay.

- Jessica Blade -

Or how about;

All the love that history knows,
is said to be in every rose.
Yet all that could be found in two,
is less than what I feel for you.

Gypsy, I am right with you. That being said, so far, the poems from .45ACP are in a running tie with the Sonnet posted by The Reaper.

Who knew? :)

Holly I've no doubt that the Men here, when and where appropriate, are quite romantic. I'm enjoying the read especially the post by The Reaper. Can't go wrong with Shakespeare.
