Surefire MR07 rail
Any opinions on this rail?
http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/...3518/sesent/00 I want to add my x200 to my duty pistol but I'm not sure what the best option is for adding a rail (and I would rather not buy a new pistol) Thanks |
Are you going to keep the light mounted all of the time?
If not, your holster options are going to be very limited with that rail. IIRC, you prefer a thumb break, which would basically leave you with the Safariland 6004 type holsters. Maybe check out the Dawson rail. It's much more low profile, will accomodate the X200, and will fit in about 50% of the holsters out there. |
It's very well made and rock solid. I took the opportunity to fondle one extensively at the SHOT Show. I was impressed and will be getting one. That said, JATX is right about the holsters and the Dawson rail. The only disadvantage to the Dawson rail is that it's a permanent modification to the gun and it requires an adaptor for the X200. It also requires drilling and tapping the dust cover. If your pistol has an aluminum frame I'm not sure how durable the threads will be. TR will be better able to weigh the pro's & cons. IIRC he has both systems. HTH - Peregrino

Thank you gentlemen.
Jatx the light will be a permant fixture on the weapon, yes I will have to get a new holster and I would like to stick with the 6004 series of holster if I can. |
