Reckless Disregard

Reckless Disregard: How Liberal Democrats Undercut Our Military, Endanger Our Soldiers, and Jeopardize Our Security, by Lt. Col. Robert Patterson, USAF, ret.

I was deeply disappointed by this book. The author carried the "nuclear football" for President Clinton, and the marketing for the book made me think that he was going to spill the beans on what he observed in that role. But he didn't. Instead, the book is a lengthy polemic against Clinton and Democrats based on little more than the author's assertions. So as much as I agree with what LTC Patterson wrote, I took little pleasure from reading the book. In fact, I found myself skipping to the end of chapters. It was just a regurgitation of a ton of stuff I already knew.

Don't waste your money if you're looking for an academically viable work or something you don't already know. If you just want to read someone ripping Clinton and the Democrats in the same way we do on this board all the time (for free), knock yourself out.

Sir,
Reckless Disregard is LTC Patterson's 2nd book. His first book Dereliction of Duty is the one where he spills the beans.

LOL, I guess I read the wrong book. The second one still sucks. :D

The first one is not much better. There are a couple of truly appalling instances of Slick Willy neglecting his responsibilities at critical moments to do such things as play cards and chat w/ celeberities, dithering and failing to act against UBL, but there's not really enough meat for a book.

The dick wagger in chief ogles the author's wife and Hillary is shown to be shrill, petty, and unreasonable. No surprises, AFAIWC.

The fact the President could "forget" the man carrying the football, leaving him behind to E&E his way on foot through downtown DC was, shall we say, a little irresponsible...
