Of course.
That is an SF guy he is talking to. Is that Jeb in the background? TR |
I can't quite make out the flash, but it's from Florida after the hurricane, so 20th seemed likely. That's Jeb back there.
Showing that keen understanding of the military which makes me proud of our media, the AP caption was "President Bush greets Federal Emergency Management Agency worker Kay Johnston and Neil Hardin, right, of Special Forces Group, Florida National Guard, Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004." |
Good thing that troop isn't a sapper, he would have tabs down to his wrist.:D

Why is he wearing a black beret and not a green one?
|

The SF Green Beret is a very dark green known as Rifle Green, and at times, is mistaken for black. TR |
Definitely green, proally bought it for the occasion. I would bust out a new one for POTUS.

20th is just a bunch of backwoods rednecks only good for hurricane relief missions.

I can make fun of 'em because I are one! :) My drawl has improved so that most Americans can understand me, but is bad enough that my PA born and raised wife says "y'all" every now and then. FL has enough yankees in the state that 3/20 isn't as bad as 2/20 in MS...... :munchin |
Man those Miss boys are the "Missing Link."

The color of the beret
TR opined, "I believe that it is green. The SF Green Beret is a very dark green known as Rifle Green, and at times, is mistaken for black."
It is no mistake that the black beret is often mistaken for green. It was part of the plan. Aside, WTF is a hat? I'd often thought that we'd been better off with baseball caps. What kind of person do you attract to a unit who focuses on accouterments? I met a few. I read Robin Moore's book in SFTG. I saw the movie as a patient after the RVN in Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver. I look at the one thing I missed in the Army; I'm not Ranger qualified. Mark A. |
hey now, y'all take her easy on the missippi thing now. "missing link"? i don't even now what that means. (born and raised in a mississippi cave)

I got assigned to that Mississippi unit to go to Haiti. Those country folks hate the UN!
Crazyasses flew the US flag, the Mississippi state flag and UN flag at the bottom on a pole. That gave LTC Short a fit, trying to explain that too the upper-echelons. :D |
Just how many Mississippi boys are in here, hell I was born Yazoo City.

PROUD MS "Coast trash" here, reporting for duty. :lifter

My greatgrandfather died in Okalona, MS in 1903. There is a town where cotton was king, ain't nothing regal about it now. Funny thing, he was an Irish-Catholic. What was he doing there?
