1 Attachment(s)
My son was visiting me here in SC for christmas and for new years we loaded up the boat and went up to Oregon inlet to try for some winter stripers.
here is the results. Good times!

NICE!:D

Last summer we went to the banks, but we went on a head boat (outta oregon inlet) ....didn't catch squat. Couldn't afford a smaller charter, maybe someday.

VERY nice fish. VERY, VERY nice boat.

My wife saw the pics and was very jealous of both!

Hey ABC if your wife has boat and fish envy it sounds like first of all she is a great man's women and second it sounds like the door is wide open for you to go get you a nice boat :)

She definately is. Grew up spending her entire summers on the Sapelo river south of Savannah, GA fishing, shrimping, crabbing. Her dream vacation would be going Marlin fishing so she can hang one on the wall in the house.

Don't live near enough to water to warrant a boat right now, but anytime the subject of "what will we do when you retire" comes up it involves us being somewhere close to salt water, with a boat, and doing lots of fishing, crabbing, maybe shrimping and definately lots of cocktail drinking.

Now that's something to look forward to!

TY for the post. You have motivated me to get back to fly tying and fly fishing. I appreciate it.

AHA! That solves it. Didn't think that avatar looked like a 35' side console!!

Only with boats do you trade up to a larger lady! Unless of course you're trying to win a bet with your teammates!:lifter

hdgb 01-27-2009 10:35

fixed avatar

K fixed that

Kingfisher 01-27-2009 15:59

Both beautiful boats. Contenders are bulletproof and will get you home when you find yourself in the slop. Must be nice to have 2 hdgb.:D

abc_123 01-27-2009 21:14

amen. i loved the look of that 31'.

my wife said, "No way in hell".

Kingfisher 01-29-2009 07:51

Several Contenders now come in a T(tournament) model that are very nice. I also believe they have come out with a 33 stepped hull that should drastically increase the top speed and make for a nice ride.

hdgb 01-29-2009 10:21

lucky maybe

Ya kingfish but that was a bit of a mistake. We made a deal on the 31 and thought it was sold. Bought the 35 and then the other deal fell thru. oops.
so ya now i'm stuck with two poor me hehehe. Still trying to sell it but everybody wants to steal it which ain't gonna happen unless i'm eatin soup and crackers. We are going to St augustine in apr to try that area out. Never fished there but thought we might be able to get and early start on the pelagics coming north. Worth a shot. Let me know when you start chsasin tarpon :)

what do ya mean

No way in hell !
does she not like the boat or is she saying to damn expensive heheheh
she is a bueatiful contender black hull which is unigue and very SF like.
Boat is a 2003 but the motors are 2006 yamaha 250 4strokes. Just under 500 hrs.. She runs like a raped ape and looks very cool doing it. If i don't sell it i may do some king tourneys with her this summer. Big shame not to run it.
$90,000 takes her home :)

HGDB, let me know if you decide to fish the king tour and need a partner. Hogs Breath was just a week or so ago as the season opener.

That's the reaction I get when I get that particular "look" in my eye....when I'm looking at boats like yours or when I hop in bed after hittin' the Jim Beam a little too hard.;)
