Piter,
Thanks for the kind words and pics.

Edited to ask: How does the grip feel when wet?

Guy 08-20-2007 13:43

Nice!

I must resist.....

Stay safe.

I don't know how you did this (design? material? most likely both) but the handle gives actually MORE grip when wet! That's at least my impression. Generally the grip of Pacific is excellent. I like it alot Bill.

gtcrispy 08-21-2007 05:03

I like the pictures Piter. I posted some pictures of my serialized version in the
1st SFG(A) Forum. When I took mine home I was on my bed with it in the sheath but unsecured. I picked it up, upside down and the knife slid out of the sheath, hit my bed, bounced up and stabbed me slightly on my hand...I learn my lesson with that :)

Bill-I think my father and I are planning to go to the Blade West show in Portland this coming month. Will you be there?

brianksain 10-11-2007 17:05

These two guys are amazing. Incredible work.

kgoerz 10-11-2007 22:53

So whats the 7th, 5th, 3rd and 10th GRP Knife going to look like. Doesn't 10th already have one? Make the Handle of the 5th Group Knife to resemble the color and texture of the Camel Spider. 7th can just be in the shape of a Jalapeno Pepper:D

Bill Harsey 10-12-2007 19:36

Piter,
Gripping better when wet comes from the exposed canvas layers in the micarta swelling slightly. Sandblasting the handle like we do helps with this too.

Thanks for the kind words from you guys and Guy too.

Bill. All:

I am now the proud owner of a (Serialed numbered) 1st SFGA # 0161 Knife, Blade S30V 55-57RC. Handle Black Canvas Micarta. I just got mine delivered at the SFA 16 Chapter meeting today!

What a GREAT combat knife! I love it! :D :lifter

Great Service / Great Knife

An original member of our SWAT team retired this week, and we decided to get him a Pacific. I had a great experience in dealing w/ Chris Reeve's company. I called and ordered the knife on Tuesday. It was engraved and in my hands by Friday morning! The knife was the perfect gift, and the experience was ultra professional.

Just wanted to drop a public thanks to Bill Harsey and Chris Reeve for a great knife!

MeC86 10-11-2008 22:19

Hartzco,

That was a beautiful blade. Excellent choice.

What a perfect gift! Any Chris' knife is a great choice but Pacific is simply "best of the best"!

Numbered knives for 1st SFG(A) should still be available.
This is to the best of my knowledge because if memory serves the CSM at that time told us there would be no cap on the serial no.s for those with and from
1st SFG(A).

Anne Reeve (of Chris Reeve Knives) would know the correct contact with
1st SFGA to ask about the knives.

Sir,
This would only be done at the request of the command of the group and there is nothing in the works from us at this time.

JoeyB 11-13-2008 11:22

Thank you sir

LongWire 07-11-2009 12:07

After a few months of research, Im drawing straws on how to acquire one of these through group. Without elaborating the First In Asia fund is no more. All I want is to get one of these with a serial#. Any Suggestions?

Ambush Master 07-11-2009 13:45

LW,
Contact Anne Reeve @ 208-375-0367 or crkinfo@chrisreeve.com. If you need any further assistance, give me a shout.

Take care.

After moving on to another employer, I also received my own engraved Pacific from our team. What a fantastic piece of equipment. Very well done, I'll always cherish it.

FWIW, I gave the Pacific to my son last year when he was selected for the SWAT team of his department... It is a beautiful piece...

CRUSADERSTEEL 06-18-2011 10:24

My wife gave me the 1st GRP knife yesterday for Father's Day! I just had sit and marvel at all the lines Bill. There is just SO much detail to this knife and yet not one thing there that isnt funtional or there just "for show". Bill you maximize beauty OF functionality better than anyone. What a great knife!! Happy Father's Day Everyone!

CRUSADERSTEEL 06-18-2011 10:30

A little FYI to all the Green-hatters that want a 1st in Asia Knife. I know the program was de-funded for a while and they havnt been available for some time but the serialized knives are once again available so ORDER ONE!! QUICK!!

Bill, you should have seen the smile on his face (it looked like this :D)... but then again, that could have just been gas from too much food....
