I hope you guys allow an old guy in here. I was a SP4 Medic 911.73 (later 91B4S now 18D) and was there when A/3rd SFG started 1 March 1964 in the old RTC area at Bragg. E/7th SFG became A/3rd SFG. Here is the old flash. See Ya.

Hello back
I was on A/3/5 before it turned into 1/3d. I left while our company was out a Mott Lake doing the SOT stuff. I went to SWC from 87-91 then back to B/2/3. Alot of people made fun of 3d, but it turned out to be a great unit. After the "dark days" Deploying with more chow than team equip and losing your sep rats and living in national guard armories! But oh what fun we had. I really felt bad for the 3/3 guys, I think they did more JRTC rotations than any other army unit in history!

Hello All
C/3/3 92-97
ODA 392/394 |
363 who are you? Send me a PM. I was on 361 from 92-98. Be safe, Randy

JRTC, no worries
Snaquebite,
Don't sweat the 3/3 JRTC deal...3/3 ended up leading the way for 3d Gp being the first 3d Gp Bn into both Afghanistan and Iraq. There were a lot of unhappy campers back then in the other battalions, but that's the way it goes sometimes. zfm7th |
Back to the site
Hey everyone, I created an account a few years ago and have been away from the site since. My name is Sean and I am currently with 3rd as an 18B/handler. I hope to read some good stuff here and maybe answer some questions.

3rd Grp time
Hey to all, was in C/3/3 from 94-96....Co. SGM, we had some good times and some bad.... :) Hope all are well, CSM-H
PS: I am not responsiable for Dave becoming Diane!!!! |

I was JR 18C on one of the 2/3 teams that went to PR with your company prior to the Haitian Vacation...fun times were had by all! I don't remember your CO's name now...he was an "odd" cat. I bumped into him in Panama a few years later and he was a LTC (!?). Crazy times. I also had the misfortune of being stuck in Cap Haitien with CARICOM #1 for the last few months of Haiti round 1, OPCON to "Diane." That was pure hell as I recall. Quite a few stories to share about that too... Insanity. After my SWC tour I ended up in 3/3 (2002-2005) and it was great. Wartime 3/3 has an entirely different face than the old peacetime 3/3 had, let me tell you. Wouldn't have wanted to be deployed under any other guidon than 3/3. Good to see you on here SGM. |
Co C 3/3
rltipton, Yep it was "interesting" to say the least. Lost seperate rats, cuts in funds that were not Army money because Diane was trying to look good. Computors that didn't make it to Africa, Story in The Resistor (that about did us in). But after all that some great guys...a bunch are now officers, a couple of SGM's and several Warrents.....Very talented guys, they learned some leadership lessons on how not to do it and hopefully are better leaders for it. CSM-H
PS: eventually the commander made Colonel.... Quote:

Edit: PMs sent to Team Sergeant but not showing up in my PM outbox. I'll email, text, call, or send runner if not received. |
Hey all, just found this intro thread. I spent a little bit of time at 2/3, but was a big trouble maker.
I was on ODA 3211 (341), Bn Med and ODB 3230 (360) from '07 to '10. |
Like everyone else just found this site. Was on 86 when it was a ghost team in 92 then moved to 82 when we got rid of all the 6 teams and then restood up 86 again in 96 until I had to do my SWC tour in 98.
