One more movie
I think we should add "Go tell the Spartans" to the list of required movies.

Right on both counts - I was both a Bravo and a Delta, therefore your barbed retorts cannot hurt me - bodies, bullet launchers - just machines, but humans are much messier than metal.;) |

Don't be thinkin' that you can get away that fast. No poppin' smoke here. That was just the 1st of several tests about the movie The Green Berets that I've compiled. I'm going for stumping the QP's.:lifter |

The Caine Mutiny?

I think somewhere Waaaay back in this tread you said you never saw "The Caine Mutiny"? Tell me that was not so, or at least that you have seen it since. That movie should be required viewing in law school. When the lawyer walks into the ballroom and throws the drink - Whoa, that speach he gives is great. Pete |
Who played the NVA general who was sky hooked?

The movie came out while I was in 6th grp on orders for RVN-a bunch of us went up to Charlotte to see it and paid a lot of attention.
The Col was Col Welch, CO of airborne school at the time. I got my wings pinned on by him. Rumor was that the burning crewman died. We showed it outdoors at A 341-the Viets and CIDG laughed at the gibberish the fake VNs were speaking. The LLDB Dai-Uy immediately built a tower. Ours was much better than the movie version. The A camp sequence was pretty good-everything else very hollywood. They would have been strung out for a hundred miles on that jump the way they meandered out of the plane. The jeep driver was just a trainee they grabbed and put there for effect-believe he had no wings, John Wayne may have been authorized a beret, but Maggie spent a lot of time putting in time with the troops. Her "teamhouse" was open to any SF vets. A lot of good men from hollywood served honorably in WW2-John Wayne ducked it. No cigar in my book. "Mr Roberts" and "The Caine Mutiny" were terrific movies. |

I have seen "The Sands of Iwo Jima" at least a dozen times, can that count towards my redeemability? After all I was a Jarhead. |
I will have to confer with counsel, AL, not RL - and get back to you. Since you were a Marine, we may have to cut you some slack, realizing that you are already 'challenged'.... ;) :D Ultimate proof being that you chose to live in West Texas - or is it West, Texas by Waco....
