Brendan Ryan wears number 13, wears his baseball pants the old-style way, hit his first Grand Slam as the Cards defeated the Pardes (5 games ahead in the Division). It occurred 20 minutes after bedtime but both boys came thundering down the stairs to watch the replay.
MRFL (Mom) sez, "How did you know?"
The older one went deaf and mute.
The Little Dude sez "We were listening to it on the radio. Dad said we could."

"Cool Dad Points" never expire!

I had a cup of the most extraordinary (and my all time favorite) clam chowder today from Holy Mackerel, owned by Harry Carry. (RIP) Chock full of clams that are so fresh...so delightful. It's the bomb. :lifter

One day closer to my daughter being born...one day closer to going home! And there's cold bottled water to drink here...

Never appreciated some of the little things so much before.

Awww didn't mean to make you home sick. As much as I complain about this place, I think I'd miss it too.

Have a GREAT time at the game! Watching the Cards lose will suck for you, though. :p

Happy thought of the day?

Saturday was the first range day for the little one.

Gypsy 08-23-2009 07:55

Excellent! How'd she do, Pete?

Pete 08-23-2009 08:17

Squirrel targets at 25M

She was shooting Squirrel targets at 25Ms.

About 80% kills and the other 20% were on the lower legs.

It's her big sister's .22 LR rifle and we didn't mess with the scope. Her groups were about 2" low. Her clean, bring home target had 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and 2" shot groups on the three squirrels.

Dozer523 08-23-2009 09:50

Tough luck for squirrels!:D
(Sq1 sez: "Sob! and she was such a cute little girl and seemed so nice.")
(Sq2 sez: "Well, looks can be deceiving. Didn't you see that old guy with her?
. . . should have seen that coming. Tough luck though . . .")

Gypsy 08-23-2009 15:50

For her first time out that's pretty fabulous!

Congratulations. But shouldn't you be calling her your fiance at this point?

Don't let that honeymoon, and new home cooking get you out of shape. :D
