I would add primitive wpns also to the list for layering such as a .45 cal Black Powder Rifle and pistol.

Not to hijack, but does anybody have a reasonable amount of experience with a Kriss .45 SMG, yet?

The design looks as if the muzzle wouldn't "drift" during bursts as much. I've since found a couple resources on it, and it looks to be a great tool for CQB.
I'd probably buy a semi-automatic version. :cool:

It is very stable during full-auto fire, but is not particularly accurate.

Not very good for CQB, IMHO, unless you don't care about collateral damage.

Have you humped a lot of .45 ammo lately? I think that stuff has gotten heavier over the years!

TR - Interesting comment, it got me thinking...
What about your same list but with that comment in mind?
i.e.

1. Carbine: USGI M1 Carbine fixed stock (politically correct) or maybe a lever-action carbine?

I wonder if choices were limited what would be the best, so-far, exempt substitutes.
