My parents have been blessed with good health as they head into old age.
After a few years taking it easy, they've stepped up their training and running performance is improving.

In a Thanksgiving day 5k run, mom finished 22:53 (at age 65) and dad finished in 18:34 (at age 68).
Not bad for geezers.

That is very cool! I'd be willing to believe that "blessed with" may include some things done right on their part. ;)

Mine for today is a houseful with #1 gd wanting to be shown some knots as her book-ferret senses located an older Ranger handbook on the shelf in the little one's toy room. Smack in the middle of young lady & tom-boy - is she ever entertaining.

Heading to the 'Crooked Door Tavern' on the Erie Canal with Nino and Carriage. Will be driving up and down the canal giving rides from lunch through dinner if any are in this AO.

Finding an e-mail with holiday greetings from a group of former students made my day. :D

They graduated in the Class of 2008; GREAT kids.

My daughter of 5 gave me a nice cut out green bird with glued on feathers. I was impressed and thanked her for it and then asked her..

'Have you or have you not heard, about the bird?'

My youngest turned to look me fully in the face. 'Yes dad, the 'bird' is the word.

'Fine I said, just so you know'.

A little while later, getting her dressed, as I helped her put on a pair of red sox, I asked, 'You know, they have Red Sox in Boston'

Once again, a flat out stare, 'Dad, I do not like dirty water either' and she ran off into the living room. Yelling over her shoulder 'and no singing it!


-cough- apparently its time to learn new songs to get her dressed by.

Having the honor to help host a Christmas party for 100+ Soldiers and their families from Charlie Troop, 106th CAV (ILARNG). Santa even showed up, riding a Fire Truck!

Ten inches of fresh powder and temps in the mid-twenty's. Marvelous!

Lucky you! I'm jealous...but we may finally get some snow on Thursday.
