Hello
I'm a civilian working as a software engineer. I'm 42 years old, married with 3 kids. If this is too brief an introduction, I apologize. I'm the type that would rather remain silent and appear stupid than open my mouth and remove all doubt. Hence the brevity here.
Thank you, Bob |
Intro Me
Hi. I apologize; Im late to my intro. My name is what I do. I'm branched AMEDD, but have been in CA/PSYOPS my entire career. I'm hoping that doesn't change but it looks like Big Army has other plans for me. I'm not real comfortable posting about myself. I may repeat or forget stuff (intro!) cause of some silly, little TBIs. But I'm better off than most. I'm currently at Bragg.

Thank you for allowing me onto your site. I am career MI. Currently 13 years in. Was originally a 98C(now 35Ns) and just recently went through JCAC and am now a 35Q. I am currently stationed at FT Meade, MD (only place for the 35Qs). I have one son and a pregnant wife, so looking forward to another child before the end of this year (God willing).
I come from a long line of military, and love the history of it. My father was an Officer under Chargin Charlie from 66-69, he then got out with his third purple heart. Surprisingly enough when he retired and moved to the land of the retired (aka FL) just round the corner from him is another Soggie! Even more amazing is they missed each other by two weeks in Country. Small world. I am a firm believer in the Constitution, and take my Oath to it very seriously. As such I carry a copy with me wherever I go. I don't plan on posting much/often and looking more for personal/professional development. If you ever have any MI questions I will do my best to answer them as properly as possible. God Bless All, Charles |

Hi folks, I was a Front Loader operator with Delta Company, 237th Combat Engineers stationed in Heilbronn, Germany from 4/65- 10/67.
I finally found this site that might just have an answer or 2 about an incident that occured on 4-24-69 in VN...... I would also like to state that even before I joined the Army in 64, I had the greatest respect for all Special Forces personel, but when my brother Walt earned the privilege and the right to wear the Green Beret, it just took that respect to a higher level. Now, the biggest reason for joining this site is that my brother Walter Marcantel, was a 2nd and 1st LT with 5th SFG at BMT, VN, and was on that mission that Shriver went missing, 4/24/69. I have Walt's diary that might have a couple of entries in it regarding that mission. If someone who was there at that time, contact me, please. Thanks .......... Jerry (in Tucson) |

Hello from NH
Hi all, found this forum via FaceBook re: the petition. I served in the active Army from Aug '72 until Aug '75 (ODA 322, 10th group) and then from Aug 75 to Feb '82 in the Reserves (ODA 113 11th Group). That was a long time ago. 11B by trade when I was in. Looking forward to seeing how the Force has changed over the years and possibly run into people I knew back then.

Gentlemen, just a few lines about myself. I am a North Carolina law enforcement officer. I stumbled across your website in a news article in Red Flag news. I appreciate what you guys have done, re doing, and will do for our country. If not for volunteers like yourselves our very freedom would vanish. Again, thank you. Looking forward to enjoying your site.

I've been in the Guard now for six years as a 11B. I currently work at a sporting goods store. I joined the Army at 19 and have had a lot of good opportunities thru the Guard.
Been deployed to Iraq once in 2010. In a few months I will be transferring active duty for the 18X pipeline. Been a long time goal of mine to be in Special Forces. Pretty much since 6th grade. I've given at minimum the next five years of my life to the active duty side of the house. It will be a hard but enjoyable ride. Looking forward to the challenge. |

Thank you for allowing me into the forum. I almost feel...unworthy. Also, thank you to those who serve / who have served our country - and everyone in it - in the absolute most honorable way.
I am not currently / previously been in the military. I'm a pretty average person, from the south, married, two children. My oldest son is seriously contemplating Army Special Forces. As a parent, I'd be lying if I didn't say there's a small part of me that's a little nervous about this...but a greater part of me couldn't be more proud. I'm not certain I'd be much of a contributor here; my desire to join the group is more around learning as much as I can about Special Forces & Special Operations (and am encouraging my son to do the same), and to conduct research of a more personal sort. Respectfully, patriot4life |

Army Reserve Infantry and we'll be retiring this year cuz I'm old and slow.
Served with Charlie Co 4/325th AIR 82nd Airborne, Charlie and Echo Companies of the the famed 100th Battalion 442nd Infantry Go For Broke. 2 Iraqi Freedom tours. Been a fan of SF because of my ROTC instructors from 5th Group and my Uncle Jess who was a 1-0 in Vietnam. He retired as a CSM and when I came back from my 1st Iraq tour presented me with an SF coin that I carry to this day. |

Hello,
I am a support soldier currently working for an ARNG Group and an active law enforcement officer. I was fortunate enough to accompany a team during an op down range a few years ago. Kept my eyes/ears open, mouth shut. (That will likely be the case for the most part here) Not only did I believe that these guys were getting it right, but it would be a good idea to find a way to get involved and do what I could to help. Although very fit, I have no illusions of going to SFAS, because of my age. Just plan to stay here and do all I can. Now that I am working for this community, I have been able to learn a few skills that I wouldn't in big Army. I was able to earn a spot to my agency’s SWAT team and that is in no small part because of the experience I have gotten from this community. THANK YOU |

Hello all,
I'm a sgt in the 82nd and have had three combat deployments to Afghanistan in the last seven years. I spent five and a half years as an Artilleryman in the 173rd. Now I am a public affairs videographer. Not the job I thought it would be and I miss the brotherhood I had on the line and am prepping for SFAS this spring. I came on here to find out info and what is going on in the special forces community and hear what people have to say about the different MOS jobs. I have an uncle who is an 18E and has been pushing me that way, but I think I am more Charlie material. My biggest thing I cam onto this site for was to find a mentor. If anyone out there would like to be a mentor, I work hard and would find the time to learn what I need to learn. Thanks. -Reed |

Hello, my name's Anthony, I'm 30 years old from Cullman ,AL. I'm a drafter/designer with an associates degree. I've been a member here for a little while now and have always enjoyed reading up on what it takes to be a Special Forces soldier. The information that can be found here is great, it's straight and to the point. I have always tried my best to apply the things I've learned here to other areas of my life.
