My father bought me a single shot rolling block .22 with octagonal barrel
That puppy was front heavy wasnt it? First rifle was a Rem. 510 Targetmaster .22 single shot, first shotgun was an Iver Johnson 16 ga. Champion, single shot with exposed hammer. First deer rifle was a K98 full dressed military 7.92X57 (8MM).

Front heavy as the devil, but taught me to hold strong and steady.

The forestock was only about 10" from receiver forward, most of the barrel was exposed and I learned to shoot with a close hand on the forestock. Actually worked to teach a very steady and comfortable offhand position.

My first shot gun was a Winnie wing master Goose gun. Did damage to dove at high, usually safe for them, altitudes. :munchin :D

I used to hunt quail with my Rem 510. Those were the days.
What does quail taste like, anyway?

Thats why they call it "hunting". Here in SW Pa. Its Ruffed Grouse that fits that comment. BUT, I sure scared a lot of them. Dont know who scared who most though. Noisy buggers when they take off at your feet.

Plus your girlfriend won't get pissed if you add accessories, share with friends, or trade her in for a newer model.

I made the mistake of also asking my wife about bolt-ons and her choice of rimfire.

Not impressed.

I love these type of threads! Didn't have experience with the BCMs, but now will have to try to check them out. My six will be limited to what I do have experience with.

1. My Battle rifle would be an HK Variant probably the PTR-91, Trijicon with BUIS

2. Medium to long range- Remington 700 in 300 Mag with a Swarovski scope.

3. Handgun- Glock 20 10mm with 6" barrel, a .357 Sig barrel, a .40 S&W barrel, and a 9mm barrel. The 9mm barrel would be threaded for a suppresor.

4. Shotgun- either a Remington 11-87 police style, or a Saiga 12. I don't have specific experience with the Saiga, but have with the AK.

5. AR- I'd have to go with, based on experience only the Colt, as that is what I had in the Army. Otherwise a DPMS. It would be with a Trijicon as well with BUIS.

6. And I would have a Ruger 10/22, also set up with a suppressor.

My 6

1-LWRC M6A2 with TA31F & surefire can.

2-HK45C w/ spare threaded bbl and can.

3-UMP45 w/ can

4-Winchester model 190. (family rifle) I still hunt with it.

5- Remington CDL 260

6- Mcmillan Tac 50 w/can Just In Case OR a Barrett M109 if someone gave me ammo with it :D

tzdunic 12-01-2012 17:01

Not too familiar with a lot of weapons. But here's my choices. (optics are left out for me. Too hard to chose.)

1. Carbine: M4
2. Battle Rifle: G36
3. LR/Hunting Rifle: Weatherby .308 Vanguard
4. Pistol: 1911 with Compensator
5. Rimfire Pistol: Ruger SR22
6. Shotgun: Remington 870
