Bill, Thanks. I've tossed around the idea...I know I was always looking for something good to listen to while rucking (hence the recommended listening Appendix in GET SELECTED). Just a matter of figuring out the logisitcs of self publishing a CD. Will think on it... Thanks again, JM |

Just e-mailed Home 6 and asked her to order the book and mail it to me. It is great that the money goes to help others. I look forward to getting my copy. I intend to do what I can while deployed. :lifter Thanks.

I made my donation a few days ago, can't wait to get the book.

75%
Thanks for all the great feedback and support....
Spoke with Dow at the Warrior Foundation this morning. We've already raised over $15,000 for the Warrior Foundation thanks to all the people who've investing a GET SELECTED FOR SPECIAL FORCES. Over 75% of the way towards funding our first scholarship... and yes, I'll buy a case of beer when we do. |
I just made my donation tonight on BMT's recommendation, about 15 minutes after finding/joining the forum. This place is a veritable goldmine of information...as well as one of the more polite and helpful forums I've ever found. Thanks to everyone here helping us on our way.

Cover to cover.
Finished it last night, it's an outstanding read. It took a little longer then I would have liked to get through (seeing as right now I'm in retail and it's Thanksgiving weekend) but I finally had the time to finish it up. I love how focused it is on mindset you need to go into it with, and how it references lots of other books and audio tapes on the subject of re-wiring your brain to never quit. It should be required reading in junior high schools. I can't wait to get my paperwork through and get in the pipeline.

Audio Book G2
JM,
Saw Bill's post about an audio book. Although I rucked to Def Lepard, ACDC, and Van Halen, it is a good idea. You might try contacting Books in Motion in Spokane, Washington. I listen to a lot of audio books by them and they might be willing to support the military and help you out. Ordered mine just to see what things are like 15 years down the trail. Thanks! Quote:

Just to provide a different viewpoint, while training for long range rucking, I never used a radio or CD/tape player (back when dinosaurs walked the Earth and there were no MP3/WMA players out there). My reason was that I wouldn't have anything to distract me besides my mind during the real thing, so I wanted to train to the same standard. You'd be surprised what you think up when you have nothing but hours and miles in front of you.

I got my grubby hands on a copy, while at Ft.Lewis last week. I thought it was a good read. I'm sure I'll be able to apply a lot of the information in there, towards my own goals.

And besides, I hate music only slightly less than I hate fun. |
No way to respond to that... :)
Instead, wanted to share a quote for the day... "Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy." - Dale Carnegie |
