Hello Gentlemen & Professionals
I am 33 years old, South Asian ethnic background, grew up in 4 countries/continents, speak 8 languages, extremely fit and active - workout regime 5Xdays/week atleast, compete in atleast 2 mud runs every year (one of them being the Camp Pendleton Mud Run), 1st Dan Tae Kwon Do.
my background is a 4 year college degree, successful professional civilian career, but that drive isnt enough for me. Every day i wake myself up or find it difficult to sleep realizing that my life is meant for something greater good than what i am currently doing. A military SF career is my ultimate drive. My only caveat - I am a US Resident, not a US citizen yet, i plan to file for citizenship papers early next year. Now i know the military processes citizenship applications as well for recruits. There are quite a few knowledgable, resourceful members on this site, who know a lot more, the formal process and exceptions/inside help if any. I am willing to Give my ALL to dedicate a career in SF. Even more, If you want to beat the bad guys, it helps, if you look like them, speak like them, and blend like them, and thats a natural for me :) Any pointers, suggestions, on how i can acheieve this target. I know I shall be competing and going up against talented men of all sorts, but not every day, a guy with ethnic background, global knowledge, experience, 8 language skills, leaves his really well paid (6figure) corporate job, because this is where his heart is. Any help and advice is much appreciated. I know this site is monitored by many SF/formerSF members. if you have an interest in my profile or would like to mentor/coach me, please reach me at QuiteAngel1021@gmail.com Location - So. Cal. Thank You for your time, and thank you for reading my introduction |
Introduction
Hello there,
I am a 25 year old planning on signing my 18x contract in a couple of weeks. I have been reaseaching on this site for a couple of months and have waited till now to join. I promise to be quiet, listen and learn. Right now I am focusing on getting my weight down. Was a D3 college defensive end. Not fat, just want to be safe when they break out the tape measurements for bf that I pass. I can ace my PT scores, but if they fail me for being 260 at 6'5", I my have to defer. I have been rucking for a month and leaning out quickly. Doing a couple of crossfit workouts a week to keep my anerobic system up. Eating clean and doing everything. Hardly touching the weight room... besides the 100 lbs. oak log I have in the bed of my truck that I play with at the park. Thats about it. I have a cousin thats an 18D in 1st group. We come from a military rich family history. Looking forward to adding on to it. Primo |
Tourist guy here. I am not in the military and have no interest in joining. I'll do my best to be a good citizen here. Gonna be a century of iron and storms so I'm interested in hearing from the guys who are at the anvil.
28 M I keep relatively alive on the cultures of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Crossfit. I am a college graduate. Archaic, esoteric, conservative, Buchananite. |

Hello Gentlemen,
I am the proud father of a current 18A, and have found this site extremely educational, as he volunteers very little information! As for me, I enlisted in 1970 and was a signal corps guy at the White House (yes, sweet duty station). Thank you for allowing me to learn more about the SF experience. I know my son absolutely loves it, and this gives me a peak inside. Thank you. Steve |
Introduction
Hello,
I'd like to introduce myself, I'm 18 years old and have just recently enlisted as a 11x in the Army. Right now I'm focusing on getting ready for BCT, and have been wanting to enlist since an early age. I was always being told stories of my Grandfather who served in Vietnam (3rd force Marine Recon.) I hope to eventually get the chance to attend SFAS and all that comes after, but for now I'm here to learn what I can at the moment, and take away knowledge that could help me in the long run as a person, and as a Soldier. I have a ton of respect for everything you guys do, and I'm glad to be here. Thank you. |
Hello
Hello everyone, I was in the Marines, from 87-93', nothing special just a lowly REMF as I was called at one time. My squadron was in Bahrain during the Gulf War which everyone has probably passed through at one time or another.
I have the utmost respect for your organization. My interest is posers who say they are "Green Berets" as well as any other service member.. I can't stand a thief or a liar so this gives me some insight on what to look for. I can't believe there are people out there with fake papers saying they have served! Thanks for your help Team Sergeant. |

Greetings QPs,
I am an AD US Navy Helicopter Aircrewman. I have been in for 8.5 years and am currently stationed in Coronado, CA. I had the honor of working with 10th group during their 60th anniversary in Ft. Carson this past June. I was given a coin from a FM after a day demonstration training mission. Thank you to the moderators for putting together a well organized forum. I hope to read through the posts and learn more about your guys history and heritage. Thanks for reading. Very Respectfully, -Matt |

Good Morning,
I'd like to say that I come from a family that has deep military roots. I'm a firm believer that freedom is not free and that it is every American Citizen's responsibility to support his/her country by joining or supporting the military. I'm a civilian nurse and have wanted to join the military since I was a child, of course wanting to be anything from being a pilot to K-9 handler. I know that with the decision for my career, I was born to save/help people, I take great pride in my work as a nurse despite the normal gender role. Even though I love what I do, I feel as if I can do more. With my clinical background I feel it would be advantageous to set out on a path of a Special Forces Medic. I am currently gathering all my paperwork for the recruiter and it should be assembled by the end of the month. I have looked at all the branches of the military and feel that the relationship I could have with the Army would be beneficial to both of us. I have just recently joined this forum, but I have been viewing it for the past few months as a guest gathering the information needed for my decision. I look forward to joining your ranks, if allowed the opportunity. Take care, Ruger |

Gentlemen,
My name is Steve, I have been in the Army for almost 4 years serving as a 13R and I'm currently a Squad Leader in the 82nd. I had the privilege of training with 19th SFG one weekend about 2 years ago, and it changed my entire prospective on where I wanted to be and what I wanted to be doing with my career in the next 5 years. I am recently returning from Afghanistan and will be attending SFAS this Dec. Thankful for the opportunity to join the site and learn all I can. |

Hello All.
I'm a 35L20 reservist in the IRR. Came off a tour supporting an SFOD-A in April. Enjoyed it immensely! Now, I'm looking to get into 19th or 20th as a support guy. I'd appreciate any assistance you all could offer. |

Hi all,
I'm a former active duty 11B and currently an Indiana guard Soldier/college student. On active I was with 1/509 at Polk for two years and spent four years with 2/327 No Slack at Campbell. I've been deployed to Samarra, Iraq for 14 months and a little NW of J-bad for about 11. I'm here to see what I can pick up to get my national guard recon team in order before we head out again. I've been scanning threads concerning gear, fieldcraft, and area studies. I look forward to getting to know some of you and will gladly take any information that can help my guys and I. V/R Raz |
