What I'd like to see is a Fairbairn-Sykes style blade with saw teeth, a gut hook, hollow survival handle, laser pointer, magnifying glass and pliers made out of a special space age aluminum/platinum, kevlar alloy.
lol :D

I applied for the Apache Underwater Knifefighting Course, but they turned me down after hearing I was an expert at Hand to Teeth Underwater Sharkfighting ;).

I'm sure everyone here has seen the WASP before, but still interesting to me (Not enough to buy one, but I would like to handle one).

As long as the user doesn't deplete all of his/her Co2 on airsoft matches, could be a fun toy (If it was free).

What, no toothpick or tweezers? Wrong, just wrong, no super-duper combat knife is complete without toothpick and tweezers....:(

Speaking of prison, I prefer to carry a sharpened tooth brush on my kit. Shiv the sentry. :D

Which goes with my statement that you don't play pokey pokey stabby stabby with guys that have guns, or fangs.

Imagine you are sitting out in the jungle at night, a little "scared", and out of the corner of your eye you sinse movement. Can cause an attitude that someone may not be prepared for.

Shoot them with suppressed pistol, or whack their head off. :munchin :D

Reminds me of hunter a couple of years back who saw a Mt. Lion stalking him in Northwestern Montana.

Guy dropped his rifle to take out his pistol. When he couldn't get his pistol out in time he turned and ran. The cat hit him from behind into a tree and knocked him out. For some reason the cat decided it wasn't worth it. (no protein?) All kidding aside, cat hit the tree too. Lucky dude wearing a good backpack is the only thing that saved his dumbass.

I carry a high quality neck knife ($185, Wilson Combat or Spartan) clipped to my belt, parallel to it, and in Kydex for quick, no fumble either hand removal. Never falls out if setup right. Used for rope cutting, field butchering, gutting, digging, prying, etc. daily. It's light, out of the way, and scary sharp.

As someone else pointed out, if I have to pull it because a cat, bear, or somethin' else is on me, I messed up bad. If I can't bring it to bear in an eye blink then I also deserve the good beating that's on its way.

I don't understand your point.

badshot 07-14-2011 18:22

Don't get the point.

Sorry Dusty, guess that is what happens when you're out in the woods too long alone.

The point: Why use a less useful and riskier tool when a better one is in hand or easily available.

To further clarify the story; Cat is 50yds away, better drop rifle and get handgun (or knife) that's strapped inside jacket. Because even if the rifle were empty (which it wasn't) the muzzle or butt wouldn't do much to end the event.

Who does that? Obviously not longrange.
