Sig P220ST (CPO). My first pistol, and my favorite .45 still.
I also own a Kimber Pro TLE II (4" bull barrel) that isn't very reliable. It tends to have either feeding or ejection issues...possibly the magazines, but I'm thinking it just needs a reliability job done on it. Next year I'm having a custom Gov't sized 1911 built by a pistolsmith I correspond with. Perhaps a CCW piece, but it's always nice to have a reliable, accurate rosco at your side. |
I have a couple that I enjoy.
My first, a Kimber Classic Custom that I have been shooting in IDPA for about 10 years. My only wheel gun (claimed by my wife now), a S&W 625. My nod to Tupperware high caps, an XD 5". My dedicated light rail gun, a Kimber Gold Combat RL II. My current competition sweetheart, a Kimber Gold Combat II, and my deployment gun, a Kimber Custom TLE II.

Same gun since 1993: Para-Ordnance P14-45
..been eyeing a Sig 220 SAO just to have one. Grew up shooting my uncles 220 and the only thing I didn't like was the DA/SA trigger. |
HK Tactical w/ LEM trigger for work and play.
corbon/aguila/fmj mix in all mags... |
I never liked any of the Taurus autos until I shot their new 1911. I fell in love and dipped into the emergency fund to get one. The best shooting 1911 you can get for the money, hands down. It actually out shoots my buddy's kimber.

Do you really like the LEM trigger? TR |
I've practiced with the ammo stacked as such and although there is a variation, it's managable... otherwise it's 4 of one 4 of another 4 of ball/AP/whatever.
I like the LEM, i really do... I originally bought it because my duty weapon as pipeline security was a G22 .40, and I wanted another HK but I also wanted to try to gain some cross-over muscle memory to my duty weapon... It's nice, basically a light double-single action... not like my expert but it's pretty damn nice. I would buy another or replacement module for my wife's compact if I could get one. |

In my opinion it has way too much pre-travel and most will not find the disconnect point until it's too late and they have pushed and or anticipated recoil throwing shots high and left of the COM of where their POA is on the target. Obviously I found that releasing the trigger to it's reset point was how this trigger was supposed to be used, not releasing it all the way back to it's starting point. This takes an awful lot of time to master at the range and you have to maintain a conscious level of awareness of each and every shot to achieve proper follow through. Yes, I know this is true of any handgun, but even more so with the LEM trigger. I would say that it would take me a good 5,000 rounds to actually achieve the proper muscle memory to use this trigger and be proficient with it. I'm certainly not a high speed guy, but If I can stick with a DA/SA trigger with little or no pretravel to disconnect the trigger then my dial up time is shortened greatly as apposed to the LEM trigger. Some may contend that 5,000 rounds is only a starting point for any trigger and I would undestand this, but I find it easier with a standard DA/SA H&K trig to get on target. I just don't like it. Kimber Pro Carry II. Hydra-shock. Zip-slide holster.
I tried the XD for a while, but just can't get used to the trigger squeeze. Best advice I was ever given in choosing a weapon was "shoot what you're comfortable with," so I'll stick with my 1911. |

Completely missed the point.

I'm currently carrying an issued Mk. 23. I love the damn thing.
It's big, but doesn't feel oversized to me...but I'm also 5'11" 200lbs. I love the single action trigger feel, and double action is fine. Weirdest thing though: I'm more accurate with weak-side offhand than I am with two hands. Any ideas? |
