Long time lurker, first time poster.

My profile pretty much sums up my military career.

As you might surmise from the screen name I was Armor, not SF, but I like to think I did my part... and I find the number of SF posers fascinating, especially those posing as SF who had perfectly honorable service in another branch.

In fact, most of my interest in this site is the "Wall of Shame", which is what leads me to my first post, but I suspect that is a topic for another thread in another place.

Hello, everyone.

I'm thirty, female, Texan, and like to lurk here. My Army career was about six months long--medical discharge--and I certainly didn't do anything high speed while I was in.

However, when I came out of the Army, I had a better understanding of what the military's like and, therefore, have more respect for service members and families. Thank you for serving, everyone.

It's been a while.

My name is Bobby. I'm a 24-year-old construction worker from Indiana. I introduced myself a long time ago and didn't know there was a crash. I was in SOPC class 09-12 and I'm waiting for the next SFAS class to roll around. I was NG for 5 years before getting the 18X contract and coming Active Duty. I took a bump from E-5 to E-4 but it was worth it and SOPC was a good experience. I look forward to learning more.

Greetings,

My friends call me Byrneski. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a 18X SF candidate, and shipping out to Fort Benning for OSUT in November, 2012.

Pursuing this route was an obvious choice. To serve my country among some of the most elite soldiers all the while pushing my limits was something I always aspired to accomplish. SF more so than any other unit grabbed my attention because the emphasis put on intellect and social dynamics just as much as tactics.

I'm preparing physically and mentally for this arduous yet exciting journey as best I can, keeping my eyes and ears open first.

Quiet Professionals,

I am a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy.
I was deployed for OEF 10'-11'.
I aspire to become an SF soldier. I have about 6 years to prepare, so this is definitely a long term goal that I have started training for (basically staying healthy - eating right and smart PT).
I hope to gain all the knowledge I can about SF to better prepare me to reach my goal.

Thank you for all you do.

Hey there!

My name is Andrew, I am a college student in New York. I play volleyball up here and I am an ROTC student. I have been lurking this page for long enough and decided to make an account and formally introduce myself. I am here to learn from the best so I can become one of the best and fulfill my dream of becoming apart of the SF community. Thanks for your time! :D

Good morning/afternoon/evening,
My name is John, and I am a 1LT currently deployed to Afghanistan. In April I was notified that I was given the opportunity to attend selection, and I will be attending SFAS in January.
I have found this site extremely helpful, and I appreciate the preparation advice given in the forums.
Respectfully,
John

Hello all,

I am Matt from Charleston, SC. I am 24 and currently deployed to Kuwait with 4-118 Infantry (SC Guard) after our mission to Afghanistan was cancelled. I completed 2 NQP drills with 3/20 SFG out of Roanoke Rapids and was on my way to my third when deployment popped up.

My ambitions are to return, pick up where I left off, and complete the required NQP drills over again to earn a slot for SFAS.

I look forward to cruising through the topics here and contributing where I can.

Matt

I am a Vietnam vet and retired Department of Defense, US Army Civilian (CSRS) Safety Manager. I have had various assignments around the world working for the Army and have loved all of it. I am currently working my second career for the USMC as a Quality Assurance Inspector on Camp Foster to keep my SOFA status. I hope to hear from some of you from time to time and enjoy the stories. Thank you for letting me be a member.

Names Joseph, I was a Navy Master at Arms and was discharged about 8 months ago. Been a lurker for a few months now and what mainly brings me here are gear, weapons and the infuriating and sometimes hilarious wall of shame.

Always respected the members of the SF community, you fine gentlemen made it so while I was standing fixed post I wasn't getting my ass shot at here in the states, For that I will be forever grateful.

Thought about re-enlisting frequently though I'm not sure I'd go back to the Navy, probably try out the Army for a change. But for now ill continue with college and my aspirations of being an LEO.

For all the old guys

SF is truly one of the greatest humanitarian works in philosophy and practice, and probably one of the greatest peacekeeping measures as well.

Great work men!!! I hope to have the privilege of joining you in the work.

Probably won't post, here just to read, educate myself and research.
