Pat,
I don't know if that is anything notable. I really don't remember much of the ride so I can't say if it was actually at zero altitude. I wound up with a compressed spine and a ruptured diaphram but my observer got out uninjured. I thought I was lucky to have a flying slot at my rank which were few and far between! |

Pat,
I did mention the 3MIB. We had units in several states including SC, GA, MI, OH, PA and OR. I didn't think it was necessary to cover my service in that much detail. With working for an airline, I could visit or work with units on a TDY basis for little or no expense to me including AZ, OR & GA. That's if my company had a "jump seat agreement" with an airline who served a city close to the unit. Well I think that's TMI for now. |
We now return you to the Introductions thread.
Next time, please start another thread or take it to PMs. Thank you. TR |
Gentlemen,
I joined about three years ago and read here often. I haven’t had anything to add until recently. I have never served in the armed forces. But if you went through the Q course or worked out of Camp Mackall in the 90’s we have crossed paths. I was known as “that asshole cop” over by Rhudy DZ near Foxfire. There has been a lot of mileage on all of us since then. Thanks, usacivpol |

Gentlemen,
Just want to express my gratitude for allowing me become a follower of your forum. I most likely will not be posting again due to the large amount of info already at my disposal. I am PS, attempting to get back in. I have several options to consider, but the 18X contract is the one I desire. Especially after the Air Force decided to put me on hold despite excelling and passing all prerequisites to start the Pararescue pipeline. Attempting to go SF and join your elite brotherhood has always been a dream of mine. Sadly, I allowed family members PS to cloud my judgement with my first enlistment. After a few more discussions with my wife and setting up a course of action for my departure, I plan on starting the long path ahead of me and earning my Green Beret. |
Hello, name is Jeff, 47 years old and reside in Charleston SC. I'm a former AD Marine '86-'94 and have a son currently at Ft Sam aspiring to be an Army Medic. Great site, I appreciate all the information here and could read for hours.

I'm a senior in college graduating this may. I've been a member about a year now and I've just been reading and looking for helpful tips. Found more than a few.
I will be pursuing an 18x contract after graduation |
Hi, I'm a former active duty Marine (2004-2009). My MOS was 2674 (French Cryptologic Linguist). I'm 28 and married with 2 kids.
I wanted to re enlist and signed my 18X contract back in November. I've been reading a lot of helpful advice, and I'm thankful to have this site as a resource. |
Great to be here, Sir's.
I'm prior service AF, got out, took a job with DoD, and was fortunate enough to be placed in a capacity which gave me exposure to SOF forces between the two most popular theaters. That said, I was exposed to batt boys (always in the gym with them), ODA's, MARSOC, SEALs, CAG, CCT/PJ's, to OGA, etc. My entire perspective changed, and I knew I wanted a chance to serve with professionals. Initially, I was set on trying to get an 11b/opt.40 contract as a lot of the SF guy's recommended that I go batt first for a number of reasons. Unfortunately, that option isn't available to prior service, so 18x it will be. I'll most likely be signing the contract here in a week, or two. Regards, Ergo |

Good luck to all those that are doing the same!!

Introduction
Hello. My name is Alex. I joined the Army Reserve in January of 2004 after a year of college. I enlisted as 38B, Civil Affairs Specialist, went to Basic at Jackson and AIT at Bragg.
I have a deployment to Yusafiyah, Lutafiyah, Mahmudiyah triangle just southwest of Baghdad in 2006. I work in healthcare on the civilian side and want to be a lifer in the military, at the least in the Reserve/National Guard basis. With that said, I want to make the most out of my military career, civilian career, and personal life as I have changed and matured incredibly over the past year or two. Here to learn and listen. Thanks ProfessionalSoldiers.com, the quiet professionals, and everybody else. |

Hello all-
Thanks to the QPs and other managers of this site for providing such an excellent resource to those of us interested in pursuing military careers. I've read and reread many of the threads here, and I joined in order to - hopefully - pass along some meaningful information to color-deficient/colorblind individuals pursuing 18X contracts. For personal background, I'll turn 23 in a little under a week, and I was born and raised in Kentucky. I attended college in Washington, DC, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Politics, with the equivalent of a minor in Spanish and extensive coursework in African Studies, graduating last May. While living in DC I had the pleasure to work and become acquainted with several current and former military personnel, including many who served in special operations units. I signed an 18X contract in December 2013, and I'm scheduled to leave for OSUT 20140408. In the meantime, if anyone here lives in the Louisville/Cincinnati/Lexington areas and is interested in running or rucking with me, send me a PM. V/R MN |

Greetings All,
First, let me thank PS.com for this source of information, and to the QP's for contributing. I appreciate you all having me as your guest. I have been enlisted in the NJARNG for the past 7 years. I am currently a commo chief for my current unit of assignment. I have attended 'hooah' schools and been blessed with many ADOS assignments. I am a full-time police officer with 6 years on the job in a big city. During this time, I have been TAC team, School Resource Officer, and Narcotics Detective. College educated in Political Science, with future plans for my Juris Doctor. I have been cruising the forums for approximately 1 year and recently registered. I am here to soak up information, learn from peoples experiences and the QPs. The ball is rolling, with my brief in February at Det2/2/20th in Glen Arm, MD. Very Respectfully, APFT300 |

Prospective 18X
My name is Greg. I'm a prospective 18X from the DC area. I have recognized this site instantly as a wealth of information, and am thankful for all the contributions.
While reading 'Get Selected' finding a mentor was suggested multiple times. I figure this forum would be an excellent way to seek such personal guidance. -Greg |

Greetings, shalom, or otherwise, hello. I'm humbled by being allowing to observe as a guest. I appreciate all that silent professionals have done for this nation.
I'm a taxi driver in one of America's most dangerous cities, and I tirelessly work day and night at the expense of my own comfort to transport people to their chosen destinations quickly and efficiently. I've lived in the West and in the East, but presently I reside in the South. I was educated on the Great Plains at a land grant university. I'm married with one child and another on the way. I've always had a desire to serve, but I was rejected for service because I once had a malignant tumor from testicular cancer. I am otherwise healthy, but it's a buyer's market for recruiters right now and they figured that a waiver wasn't worth the effort at this juncture. I am, however, a member of the official State Defense Force. Again, thank you. |

I figure it's about time I introduce myself. I have been reading the forums for a long while but haven't posted before. I am a 20 year old man from Minnesota. I have been interested in the military since I was in kindergarten. I am interested in joining SF. I've been working on fixing a disqualifying condition since before I graduated high school. I'm not sure what all to say so I will conclude this post before I start rambling.

Hello all. I joined the active compenent army in 2006 as a truck driver. I reclassed to MP in 2009 because I did not like the job as a truck driver. I started thinking I may want to try SF prior to MP school. My first orders as an MP was to FTCKY home of the 5th. This was my first sign. I put through the paperwork with the Special Operations Recruiting office and after some months I went to SFAS in June of 10. I was not ready, physically, mentally, heart or maturity level. I was 22.
I then decided to leave active duty in 2012 and joined the reserves. I quickly missed being regular army. I then tried to get a release to get back to active. Upon getting my release granted I was thinking of going back as an MP. Well everything closes, my luck (or was it). Then something opened and low and behold it was 18x. This had to be yet another sign. My calling. I have regreted how I VWd out of SFAS back in 2010 and thought about it from time to time. My release expired this past October and I have sense tried for another. I decided that I won't mess it up this time. This time around I REALLY want this more than anything. I have begun a training regimine to fix my failures :lifter and working hard to get my release so I can get my 18x contract. I will get my contract. I will put forth well over 110%. I will get selected. I will join the ranks of the great QPs. This site is amazing. Since I have found it I have done nothing else on the internet other than reading threads and taking notes. I want to thank all of you for your advice and help. Apologize for the length of this intro but felt the best way to get any help I need is to know all about me. |

Good morning everyone. I have been in the Marine Corps for five years. My MOS is infantry, I have been on one combat deployment and will hopefully soon be attending a SFRE for a NG SF unit. Becoming a QP has always been something I wanted, and it is something I will strive to achieve.
Thank you for your time, advice, and this site in general. It has already provided a wealth of info and advice. |

Greetings,
I have spent my 72 hour probation period reading just about every thread. I recently signed an 18X contract instead of re-enlisting with the Navy or going to the Corps. I agreed with going back to bootcamp and losing a rank, but that is worth the chance to prove to the community that I am worthy of standing within the ranks. I am very thankful and excited for the wealth of information on this site. My hats off to all of the QPs and others. For now, I'll be reading, posting less, and PT. (Oh, and i get to go to SERE again, THAT should be fun) |

Hello Everyone,
I have been lurking around these forums for quite a while now, searching for this and that in regards to an assortment of Special Forces information. I have recently enlisted under the 18X program and will be leaving soon. I appreciate the time all of the QP have put in place on this site to help individuals like myself. Hopefully I will have the physical and mental fortitude to achieve this goal. I have been preparing myself for the rigors of the pipeline for nearly 4 months and I cannot wait to see if I have prepared enough :) Thanks for everything. |
Introduction
Hello all,
I am currently a Cavalry Scout (19D) in the Nebraska Army National Guard. I have not had the opportunity to be deployed yet, so for now I am doing my monthly drills training for reconnaissance and surveillance missions. While I enjoy my MOS and my current unit, I strive for something more. I feel that my best fit lies within Special Forces. The experiences I have gained both in the civilian world and in my military duties have culminated into something unique that I believe I can bring to SF. I am a determined person by nature and I refuse to allow myself to throw in the towel at any point. I joined this forum so that I might have the opportunity to meet gentleman that have held themselves to the highest standard and earned their right to be in Special Forces. I have learned over my years to take the experiences of others and apply it in such a way that I can better myself. Since becoming 18-Series is what I hold so precious to my heart, I know the best way possible to get to where I want to be is through the guidance of the experts here. I would like to thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this forum community and I hope that in the near future I can proudly declare that I am a member of the Quiet Professionals. |
Whats going on Gentlemen, My name is Sam. I've been on this site since 2011 but figured I finally make my first post. I am a recent grad of the SFCQ. I am a 18B and will be heading to 7th group. I spent 7 years in the 82nd before the Q course as a 11B. I needed to push my self farther and that's what made me join SF. I am looking forward to my career in SF and glad to be among the best that the Army has to offer!
