Introduction
Been deficient in my duties, joined the site in November and never posted an introduction as asked. Sorry, this was brought to my attention by former teammate who frequents this site and told me someone had seen an article about me in the local paper and was trying to figure out if I was a poser or not.

introduction
Hello all,
I have already blundered by not posting an intro so I'm hoping for redemption and offering my apologies. My name is Rich I'm 25 years old. I work as an EMT in Chicago and hope to one day be an 18d. Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge you provide. |
Hello all, 24 yrs old and looking for information on the SF community and preparation. Thank you to all of the quiet professionals on this site for your service.

Introduction
Thank you for the opportunity to join here.
I am currently with 2nd Group MISO. I also just finished up ten months as a Fellow on Capitol Hill while I get my Master's Degree. I am here because I enjoy the threads and I learn a lot from them. I especially enjoy the intellectual conversations had about unconventional warfare, FID and operationalizing intelligence. The revolution in that regard from the SF community has been extraordinary. I appreciate the privilege to be here and thank you for the contributions you've made to the force. Best, S |
Hello all.
I've been a browsing this forum for quite some time now, but just haven't ever introduced myself. I'm a student at the University of Utah and I am looking into enlisting. For all of you that have served and are now serving, thank you. |
Good morning Sir/Ma'am,
I am currently active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. I started my enlistment on a patrol boat USCGC ORCAS (WPB - 1327) where I did mostly law enforcement. I graduated from the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, South Carolina in 2010. I have done drug interdictions off the coast of Mexico and Canada as well as joint operations with the Canadian Navy. I am currently at a search and rescue (SAR) unit. I have been a Coastie for almost 4 years and due to the Coast Guard's unbelievably high retention rate, advancement has come to a screeching halt. So I'm jumping ship. The Army has offered me two options: 18X or go reserves and try to get activated. I think you all can guess which one I picked! The journey begins MAR '13. OORAH! |
I'm Del. I waited to join the military until President Reagan (best damn president ever) was elected. I was an intell analyst in the war on terror 30 years before it was ever acknowledged to be a war. Counter terrorism was on everyones plate, but especially with those of us in USAEUR. We were getting blown up, shot at and even kidnapped on a pretty regular basis.
My team wrote the "Black Book" for the Fulda Gap AO. Wrote and instructed the intell course at Bad Toelz from 81 to early 83. Wrote multiple DA manuals on Russian equipment, tactics and capabilities. Mountain/Winter Survival Course instructor in Berchtesgaden. Winter of 82. |

I'm currently an 18A in 3rd SFG (Pre-team time). Finished the q-course in April 2012 and met the unit downrange. I'm working staff in the OPCEN for now and should be getting a team in the fall.
Prior to SF, I was an infantry officer in the 82nd, completed ranger school, and was enlisted for 8 years before I commissioned through ROTC. There's great information on this board from what I can tell so far and I'm looking forward to contributing to discussions where applicable. Thanks! |
The Pleasure Is All Mine.
Good Afternoon Gentlemen/Ladies,
My name is Jr I just want to say it's a honor to be on the same Forum as men of your caliber. I always wanted to join the military as a child, joined the Marine Corps right after High School, and went to Okinawa (fun times). I enjoyed my time in The Corps I learned much more than I thought I would & have made friends and life long brothers. I've always had an interest in Special Forces, heck I even called an Army Recruiter while I was stationed in Oki. All seemed as though it would transition well, at least until the economic crunch hit. The next thing I knew the Army was no longer doing voluntary rank reductions & the proverbial **** rolled down hill on my plans as more changes came down the pipeline:mad:. All is not lost as I found, due to my lack of holding a qualified MOS, the singular option available to me is 18X :D. I've read Get Selected! and I've always applied the rocking chair theory to most aspects of my life, I'd rather of tried and failed miserable than to look back and say I wish I did. So now I’m hoping to be given the opportunity to prove myself worthy of those that have done and continue to do what I only dream of. |
Former 7th group guy just looking to stay in the loop while in 19th. Presently going to school to get my MBA.
