As I can see, M110 is very rare and inaccessible weapon? Its almost impossible to find? But there are many such points in my list. I took the path of dreams.

The issue is quality, suitability, and accuracy (another version of the eternal triangle). Some of us have higher standards WRT those criterion than the US Army which is frequently forced to use "other considerations" when contracting to purchase weapons/equipment.

How often I hear these words here at home, as much I'm surprised in your case. But why not? Harsh realities are everywhere.

Six Guns

Thanks Reaper for this thread. It has been very informative. My list:
1.) Colt 6920 W/ Leoupold 3X9 scope
2.) Remington 870
3.) Marlin 30-30 W/ Leopould 3X9 scope
4.) Glock 19
5.) Marlin Papoose .22 with can
6.) S & W 686 .357
I do not claim expertise in this area but you will find these, among others in my gunsafe with sufficient (by my definition) ammo for all. Zombies beware!:D

Streck-Fu 10-21-2012 20:26

Purely practical. No delusions of grandeur here. The 6 I would choose to rely on.

Ruger 10/22 (hunt the little things. Teach the young uns. Parts are everywhere.)
M4 Carbine (defense, hunt the slightly bigger stuff)
Remington 870 (everyone needs a 12g)
Sig P228 (9mm is everywhere and with 15 and 18rd magazines available, capacity is not a problem).
S&W model 686 .357 (another must own is a good wheel gun)
Remington 700 (.308 as it is plentiful)

Oldrotorhead 10-21-2012 20:37

1. LaRue PreditAR 7.62 16" with a 2.5X10 Nightforce
2. On order OBR 5.56 16" saving for a Aimpoint T-1
3. Mossberg 500 18" nothing special
4. Ruger 10/22 with a Nikon 4X32
5. Glock 22 with a 9MM threaded barrel on the list.
6. Ruger 45/22 with threaded barrel on order and a can on order pending stamp now.

In a would where money were no object I would switch the Glock for a HK, Switch the Ruger 10/22 for a S&W .22. Add more cans and a boat load of training.

I'm not greedy. I'll just stick with the three I have ....

1) Shotgun .... Remington 870 12ga
2) Long range rifle .... M1 Garand
3) Pistol .... 1911 .45

Now when the Zombie apocalypse happens, I wouldn't mind picking up .....

4) .38 sub-nose
5) Crossbow .... (like Daryl's on The Walking Dead) :D

Buffalobob 10-22-2012 12:42

I wonder about all you 870 guys and whether you just like to flinch a lot.

I also find it interesting that with all the military guns on this site in the hands of retirees how very little blood actually get spilled by anybody except me. :D Of course if you stick to shooting people then you don't have to skin them, bone them out and then pack them a mile uphill to your truck. :D And of course your wife doesn't complain about there being blood and hair all over the kitchen

x SF med 10-22-2012 13:40

Winchester Model 70 FW in .308/7.62 w/6-24x scope
FN/FAL Para in 7.62
Savage .22 LR/LS bolt action w/ 4-10x scope
Benelli Tac 12
SA Xd 9 (I use Winchester Super X Super unleaded 147 gr as load of choice)
Kahr CW9

I'd like to upgrade to the .40 SW for both the Kahr and the Xd

Great topic....

Can I count Post Samples if they are in my current inventory? This is like asking a parent which child they like best
