Sorry, I just don't see AM being addressed as "Homey".

I'm sure he prefers the more formal "Homeboy" or even "Homeslice". At least from us Non-QP guys.

I'll be heading out to the range to shoot the HK 416/417 with the HK rep for future replacment of our M-4's at work. I'll post the current LE price later on. FYI, since it's so hard to get M-4's due to priority to MIL, we're thinking of going to the HK 416/417 depending on price and if they do buy backs for some of our older HK weapons.

Since this thread started I noticed several other companies advertising the same set up. Why is everyone saying they are all junk again? Same comments I heard when the Civilian M4's started popping up after Colt.
My first M4's were BM and Armalite. I was told I was ripped off, It would break apart, Make a good wall hanging. Colt is the only real M4. Years later, shot weekly about the average for use. Armalite is still running with it's original upper and lower, used in two SFAUC courses, don't ask;) The BM lower is still being used. Never had problems. I know Colt is a better quality Weapon, no doubt. But is your M4 going to be bouncing around a Hummer, Jumped from Planes, exposed to over pressure rutinely....etc
Take the same approach as you would with a new PC Operating system (Vista)Wait.
If the situation permits you. You might have some nice HK's in your Arms room. While the department up the street is attending Front Sites two week Combat Carbine Course. With the money they saved buying elsewhere. There is a lot of baggage to think about in choosing a new weapon for a unit or individual. Training being first on the list.

OK,
I shot the HK416/417 and spoke with the HK rep. He's in charge of the LE section for HK and has the LE background. He knows about HK's reputation for customer service and says that's the specific reason why he was hired.

I got the LE prices and if anyone wants it let me know via PM. As some of you know, I work as a full time SWAT/TAC cop for a big city on the west coast. Having a major city SWAT/TAC team using your product is a big seller in the gun industry. So this price may be specific for our city.

Already the HK rep has stated that several big city LE are going to the HK.

If we go though the HK rep it's for the simple fact that due to GWOT, those weapons are easily available for shipping vs waiting for shipments for M-4's.

We our going to T&E these two weapons once we get the paperwork going. So we'll have the 416 for 90 days and the 417 for 30 days.
