I know it is not a H&K but Springfiled just released a XD chambered in 45ACP. Holds 13+1, has the 1911 grip angle and the grip is smaller than the USP and G21.

I know you've probably thought of this, but it might be a good idea to put disclaimer on your pics. Random losers might steal those photo to sell gun accessories depicted in the picture, or put them on militaryphotos and claim "SF weapons" etc. etc.

It's been discussed before and I'm not the sharpest tool in the box on this one, but perhaps some html working can have posted pics automatically stamped "propery of PS.com..." This, of course, may generate a complain from a certain member who sometime post her anatomy:)

Its a pretty good pistol, fairly accurate.... my wife has shot almost 1000 rounds through it and not one malfunction.... very easy to field strip.

Nice pistol TR! I am looking at getting one of those for my gf. It fits her hand well and she likes the trigger.

My question is about caliber. I know there is nothing wrong with 9mm (especially with good ammo), but I'd prefer she have a 40. She has gone shooting with me a few times and while she can handle my P12-45 very well, she wasn't digging the G23 we rented. She shoots 9mm well too, but I was wondering if anyone has shot the P2000 in both calibers side by side? How sharp is the 40 recoil?

We have looked high and low for a P2000 to rent, but no joy. She is also interested in the Para LDA guns, but likes the feel of the HK better.

I've shot both, side-by-side. Muzzle flip more noticeable in .40 cal.

Since your girlfriend doesn't much like the G23's impulse, she'll may find the 40 cal. P2000 similar -- I did. She may end up using the 'small' grip back-strap, which would also alter the "felt impulse". P2000 is a 25 oz. (empty) polymer frame handgun, and bears a higher bore axis than the G23.

I choose the 9mmP, because my shooting was better in placement and time with the P2000 in 9, compared directly with the .40 cal P2000

My basic handgun philosophy is that defensive pistol calibers are all underpowered, and placement is the prime determinate. I always practice more with the 9mm, due to economical ammo. ( just so you know my bias )

That also depends on the ammo..... but I would assume the same conclusion that Seth came to just based on caliber.

If she shoots 9mm well, get her a 9mm. I doubt she's intending to go toe to toe with terrorists and accuracy is much more important than caliber.

LOL! Thanks guys. She also shoots 45ACP really well which is why I was looking at the .40. I didn't know if the recoil reduction (plastic tubular thingy) on the HK made it feel better than the G23 or not. :)

Glad you posted the link TR! I purchased my first 9mm last night.....USP Elite. :D

I've looked around for a while trying to find the 18rd magazines. I placed the jet funnel kit on it and it's pretty damn nice. Only problem, it doesn't take the standard 15rd mags with the jet funnel on it and I only have two 18 rounders.

My third USP and the most fun so far. Plus it's cheaper to shoot.

So far the best grand I've spent this year. :p

Now if I could just pay off the Rock River AR I have on hold at the gun shop. My job there lets me get everything at cost and seeing as it's my part time job it all goes back into the store. I keep telling myself (and the frau) it's all worth it.
