I just measured the master pattern for the H-Class Folder.

Overall length open is: 11 and 3/16ths inches.

Overall length closed is: 6 and 3/16ths inches.

Blade width, top to bottom (not counting the thumbramp area) is:
1 and 5/16th's inch.

And as stated previously, blade length is 5 inches by 3/16th thick,
made from CPM S-30V steel
Tested at Rockwell "C" Scale hardness of 59 on knifemaker
Bob Lums Rockwell hardness tester.

This means my new digitally controlled heat treat oven is spot on.

I had the priveledge of holding this folder last weekend. To say it's "rugged" would be an understatement. Great design, razor sharp, and tough as nails. It loosk like the knife is a collector's piece in a far away land now... Mr. Harsey, are you planning on making these available to the general public?

Just wanted to say hello Bill. Yes, the knife IS awesome. Awesome in every respect.

Bill, I'm honored to own this prototype of H-Class Tactical Folder. It's a centerpiece of my small collection...

Mr. Harsey! What are you doing to me  I haven't even purchased a T2 yet....

Sure looks like a winner!

If you like it... take a look at the small comparison of H-Class TF blade next to Green Beret 5.5"

Mr. Harsey does have a thing for making large knives, doesn't he?

Magnificent though!

Beautiful work too. What gets me is how well proportioned it is. In a photo by itself there's no clue of how big it really is. I went back to the start of this thread just to review the original pictures and refresh my memory. Having seen it in Mr. Harsey's meathooks and then seeing the 5.5" GB knife next to it puts it into perspective. I can't wait to see what comes out of his shop next. I'm holding my breath in anticipation. Peregrino

Just a footnote to this knife project, using the exact same profile and dimensions of the original H-Class knife and with the help of Gunnerjohn pushing buttons on the computer to program and run his CNC milling machine to produce the complex parts...

...there will be a model with handles and frame made from solid 7076 T-6 aluminum using a pattern for grip that has been in development here for almost two years. The locking spring will remain 6AL4V titanium.

Pictures? after SHOT Show, maybe.
