As a previous post stated, "dont lump everyone in the same boat." Being a 26 year street cop, I can plainly state that it is NOT the rank and file cops that are in favor of banning certain weapons. It is our political managers, chiefs and sheriff's. It is the same reason that you saw chiefs and sheriff's posing with John Kerry and Bill Clinton. In fact, you will find that most cops will tell you (quietly) that they wouldn't register their weapons either. Unfortunately, the rank and file in law enforcement, are held back from speaking their minds, and seeth that they are judged by what their political bosses say in the news.
