Dude - there's a WHOLE bunch of places my wife (and I for that matter) would rather not be. Having said that, simply make the best of where you are; that is the key towards success in the Army. Don't get too wrapped up in "whatever program" to prepare, your mental state will carry the day (starting to see a theme here?).

Even my current location had me slumped-shouldered, bubble-lipped, spit dripping, kicking-the-can-in-the-parking-lot saddened when branch told me where I was going but we have always found things to do that are fun. We've tried hard to ensure that we see all we can wherever we happen to be as for damned-sure you won't see me setting up shop in Illinois after this tour is over.

I guess the point is...no matter the suck, it will all be over shortly and whether you enjoyed it or made the most out of it is up to you.

JimP hit on a good point. Also, this is something I have learned in a very short time. It is not where you are located that matters, it is who you are with that does. Living in your ideal Location isn't much fun without someone to share it with like family, friends, and loved ones. Just my two cents.. back to lurking.

My Contract

As per the original post. My contract says the same thing. It says OSUT (Including SOPC and SFAS) in Ft. Benning.

Contracts have been saying that for years. They were incorrect then and they are incorrect now. Don't concern yourself with sheit that you have no control over.

Roger that. Any idea what, besides BCT, AIT, and Airborne would fill in the 26w 4d I am supposed to be in Benning?

You worry about too much little shit. Focus on the 50 meter target. Things will iron themselves out as you progress. If they don't, worry about it then, not now.
