I ended up going to the doctor and getting meds when the problem seemed not to be going away. Some kind of cortisone cream and silvadene cream, IIRC. It worked.

Follow up question for you.

Were you taking any meds prior to getting the sunburn?

The reason I ask is because some meds cause photosensitivity(promote sunburn) with people, ie. Doxycycline, etc.

Just thinking out loud.
