The next time I come out there I will bring a helmet with a gunners shield attachment, some body armor, and a copy of the Army Composite Risk Management Program...LOL Stay Safe

Thanks, everything is fine and am really trying to be extra safe as a shop standard. "mostly safe" is not good enough. Just like logging, it's the stuff one doesn't see coming that gets ya.

There is a QP here who is an old school logger, he knows this too.

Shop tips for the Old Blacksmith
 
When using a 500# trip hammer, use longer tongs and have the aprentice do all the heavy lifting.

Also, the trip hammer should not fall so far. One can set the hammer to lightly touch and crack an egg.
