I actually use both, but it depends on where I'll be spending most of my time, ie: crowded place vs. non-crowded place (open spaces). I carry more than one .45 mag. The second mag is always full of FMJ. |
OK, I'm an old Fart
Mk IV / Series 70 Government Model, stainless.

HK45 Compact. Really, really nice - except for the sights. The dots are luminescent instead of Tritium and need to be "charged". WTH were they thinking putting these on a concealed carry weapon??
Also, I find that the grip prints worse than a 1911 due to the finger extension on the magazines. |
CPTAUSRET
CPTAUSRET asked me to post this for him because he was not sure if the .45 was actually referring to a bullet size, a weapon or the diameter of the wooden shaft he uses to make his weapon of personal choice, the "Atlatl". (Yes, that the ATLATL.)
You're welcome Terry. Team Sergeant |
I believe the Atlatl wins the old school award.
Under the influence of TS, when wandering by the Leech pond , I carry a USPc in a Kramer. |

Early Combat Commander in satin nickel. Well worn, scratches, holster wear but shoots better than I can. Do not carry based on magazine capacity, but I have other choices, METT_TC. Maryland laws also frown on the practice. She gets lots of range time and is always with me on the Striper Coast.

as with RL's comments, no one cares but.....
Depending on my clothing/activity; either the Kimber Pro CDP or Kimber Compact CDP... Wilson mags/Speer LE HP.... Milt Sparks IWP Holster.

Hk USP was my favorite .45, loaded with Speer 200 grain +p Gold Dots. Unfortunately money has been a problem lately, so it's been a Glock 23.
When I am back in "the money", I like the looks of the HK 45C. Jatx, other than the sights, and that it prints, anything else you don't like about it? I'm thinking of either getting this or giving the 1911 platform another chance. |

H&K USP 45F LEM or S&W M&P with RBCD's.

I picked up the Smith and Wesson M&P .45 ACP full size yesterday.
Good ergonomics, good mag capacity, double action only type trig and feels well balanced. Also came with night sights. Very nice pistol for the price I paid out the door. www.gandrtactical.com has them for $460 but only a couple of more left. |
