Congrats on step 1.
Selected only means that you still have numerous opportunities to fail. Keep your eyes and ears open, mouth shut, and focus on each 25m target as it presents itself... then possibly in a couple of years, you'll really get selected.

class 501-08

just got back from selection, new 14-day course, no joke! getting my feet x-rayed tomorrow. 18E, French. This site was a big help. Thank you QPs

We tried to warn guys not to get all excited about "the short course". :rolleyes: Congrats, heal up, and get back to work.

Selected

Also just got back with H8Leech...he is one strong mofo! Got selected, and I already got my Xray's. Bone scan in a couple days, I definitly got a good fracture from the trek. Thank you guys for feeding us good intel on success, Daver still says it best with DO YOUR BEST. It really is the best advice. I am already studying the language material...God help me with Thai!!

Bottom line...14 day course is NO JOKE. One thing I noticed though is that there is so little down time less people voluntary withdrawed, because they were so busy the didn't have time to doubt themselves! On to airborne and SUT, see you guys in the future.

What is the basis for your comparison and opinion?

I didn't know they were still assigning Thai as a language. I thought they got rid of Thai along with German. Are they issuing German also?

I went through selection September October time frame and they had Thai as a choice of language. They didn't have German though.

That's interesting. Anyways, congrats on being selected. Work hard and get on a team ASAP. We need well qualified SF NCO's.

Mosby Raider 02-10-2008 13:00

Congratulations

Congratulations pepee1, I see by your public profile that you're assigned to the unit from which I retired. Make your own luck and get prepared for the "Q" course!

I also got selected in class 02-08. We probably had the worst weather in North Carolina history. Just about everyone had chilblain for a week after the freezing rain and snow during land nav but it was fun overall.

They gave me french and 18B. CLT is up next.
