Hey brother, email me at info@americankami.com . Easier for me to keep track of everything that way, and I don't have to delete messages. :D

Lots of action in the shop this week. FDE and Black DLC GITFOS (and other coolness), new Rev 2 MicrAxe ready for heat treat, and a bunch of ManiAxe all finished up. Hope you guys dig.
Oh, and the Little SHIIT / DR Jones Bag project is finally a go as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLEX749KHYU Bladeshow is just around the corner, and I still haven't figured out what I'm bringing yet, but I shall be there as always at table 18E. So stop by and say hello! |

Thanks TS! Glad you like 'em. And they're only getting better. Now that I'm doing all the Solidworks programming and production on them has moved back here to Omaha, I have a way more control and the lag time has been greatly reduced.
Some modifications have already been instituted that are going to make them a lot cleaner and more ergonomically correct. Looking to have something to show shortly after Bladeshow is over with. Right now it's a mad dash just to try and get things buttoned up for Atlanta. Quote:

Table knives of the full custom variety for Le Bladeshow, just about ready to heat treat.
Man, I hope that big bowie survives heat treat and re-straightening... I think I might shed a tear if I wreck that one. 10.5" blade and fat as hell. |

Alrighty, here's everything for the table at Blade, except for sporky stuff, of which I will also be bringing a nice supply.
Same table as always, 18E. Listed in program under the biz, American Kami. Hope you guys dig the work, safe travels, and see you there! |
Good looking knives, DJ. Is the middle axe head anodized?
|
Can you send me the third Ax from the left please:D
It looks just right for my Powered Para glider (PPG) camping kit...... |
Thanks buddy! Glad you like.
You talking about the grey one in the OD handles? Quote:

I think that means I'm doing something right. :D
Those are the Gen 2 MicrAxes. Put them on a diet (0.275" thickness vs the 0.375" of the originals) and revised handles. Handles are now more rectangular in cross section, are more comfortable, and are much less prone to rotate in the hand vs the original "broom handle" cross section handles that were on the first four prototypes. Machining quality from this new local vendor is also much cleaner on all components than it was from the guy I was using the past two years from my micro-batch midtech stuff. Sometimes it's the little details that make all the difference. I'm really pleased with the finished product. Took one of the HPs out for field testing in the wilderness this past week. It was completely un-sharpened when we arrived. I spent about five minutes putting an edge on it with a Nicholson mill file, and immediately put it to work. Performed all tasks with flying colors. Very comfortable and maneuverable, and no longer a boat anchor like the the Gen 1 prototypes were. Axe in the pic is uncoated. I just grabbed one off the bench, slapped handles on it, picked up my bag, and headed out the door. Quote:

Got some new stuff to share with youse guys. These are for the USN G6 show in Vegas this coming weekend. I shall be at my usual spot, table I-3. Cell is on my website if you would like to contact me. Hope to see some of you there!
Pic is way too big to upload here, so you'll need to click on this link: http://www.americankami.com/AVAILABL...UG2014%20B.jpg Official unveiling of two new knives, the M15 and M13. Oh, and stay tuned for more details on the MicrAxe pass-around for QPs. I'll be running that here very soon. |

It's been too quiet in here, so time to shake things up a bit.
Here's some new stuff, split between these two most recent posts. Part of the re-launch of the entire midtech product lineup that began around a year ago. Axe pics will be in a separate post here.' These are the M4, M7, M9, and M13. Gearing up now for Sniper Comp at FT Bragg in March. Those of you who will be attending, please hit me with an email so I can be on the lookout for you. I should have a bunch of new stuff for the table. |

And here's part two.
These are the M15, M16, M17, and GITFO. |

The 4, 7, 9 & 13 look like they have some heft to them. I like! |
They do, but they're still surprisingly quick in the hand. I like them all, but I'm exceptionally fond of the M9. 10.5" OAL, 6.5" blade. 0.1875" thick CPM S35VN.
