My condolences. Our furry friends never live long enough, but they sure do make life richer while they're with us.

So sorry to hear the news about your pup. Glad you get an extra couple of days with him.

My Hump Day Safe Space :D

I finally purchased a bottle of Horse Soldier’s barrel strength bourbon. I didn’t know until a couple of weeks ago you can order from the distillery. :lifter

This is a very fine sipping whiskey.

Also in the picture are a couple of Bill Harsey’s Lonewolf designs, a T2 & D2, for those that know.

I B Happy 😍

If you are so inclined
Shop: Horse Soldier's Bourbon

I'm not smart - but for some reason they can't ship to GA or NC

I thought the same here in NOVA. In fact, I didn't think SHB was distributed in NOVA, but my daughter spotted it at the ABC. I was about to set-up a curb-side order and decided to check the factory, SUPRISE.

The factory was $13 less w/free shipping :lifter

Does NC still have dry counties?
Learned about those the hard way.

JJ, what can you tell us about that ashtray? Is it an old arty shell? Looks engraved too but better than the standard E Tae Won junk shop.

Thinking of you during this time Pat.
Just put down my furry friend of nearly 13 years last week.
It’s never easy as they give so much - the love that they give is a happy thought.
Peace.

Oh gee Pat, always hard because a pet is like your "fur kid" and it's devastating when we have to make these types of decisions. My life would be turned upside down if I had to do that. My cat has been my best friend, my comfort and my solitude in my life after my divorce last year. I'd be totally lost...best wishes and my prayers to you and your family.

Thanks to you all!. Normally I wouldn't have posted such a personal thing except he has been my avatar for so many years here and many members have met him. It just felt right. Thanks again!

I believe it's a Naval WWI 105mm. cut to about 2.5inch x 5.5inch dia. A piece was flattened to create the top. I like it because of the volume. I don't need to empty it for every use and the lid prevents the ash from blowing all over.

The engraving is more like fine line scratches. Kinda oriental.

Picked it up on ebay several years ago. It popped up while I was looking for WWI smatchet and bolo blades.

If your interested, try searching for "trench art" :munchin

Thanks, I recall reading of that fine young man, doing what fine young men do.
Hope someone sends him a really cool piece of quartz to contemplate as it seems he's a rockhound.
